A pick-up is bought to be put to work, and that is exactly why it ends up damaged: a trailer that snakes out of control, a load bed that is overloaded, a bollard on a building site. This page lists all the damaged Amaroks offered by the car dealers, traders and dismantling companies in our network, from the Netherlands and abroad. Filter by year of manufacture, engine option or type of damage and contact the seller directly.
What our partners buy in determines what is listed here, and that changes daily. Volkswagen has built the Amarok since 2010 and launched a completely new generation in 2022, this time together with Ford. For you as a buyer that is an important distinction, because the two generations hardly share a single part.
The first Amarok was built in Hanover and Argentina and is powered by either a 2.0 TDI four-cylinder or the 3.0 V6 TDI, which, depending on the year of manufacture, delivers 204 to 258 hp. Virtually every example in the Netherlands has 4MOTION four-wheel drive and a double cab.
These pick-ups have done their job and often have a high mileage. Look at the floor of the load bed and at the tow bar mounting points; that is where you can tell most quickly how hard the vehicle has been worked.
On the 3.0 V6, also check the condition of the timing belt and the turbo. Those are the two items that can still turn a bargain Amarok into an expensive one.
The current Amarok is built in South Africa and sits on the same chassis as the Ford Ranger. There is a 2.0 TDI with 170 or 205 hp and once again a 3.0 V6 TDI, now with 240 hp. Inside is a large portrait-format screen and the equipment ranges from no-frills to near-luxury.
Because this generation is still young, damage usually means a collision involving a car with low mileage. The driver assistance systems in the bumper and windscreen then account for a good share of the cost.
Bear in mind, too, that the second generation has different mounting dimensions from the first. A load bed cover or hardtop from an older Amarok will therefore not fit without modification.
Besides the standard double cab you will come across single cabs and vehicles with a hardtop, a roller cover or a complete commercial body. These modifications add value, even when the vehicle itself is damaged.
With a fitted body, check that the mounting has not been distorted. A crooked hardtop or a load bed that has been pulled loose points to an impact that goes further than the bodywork.
We do not keep a fixed list of vehicles. You set the requirements your Volkswagen Amarok salvage car must meet and then see whether anything suitable is listed at the moment:
Nothing suitable found? Come back next week. Save your search or the link to this page and check back regularly, and you will be there when one of our partners lists one.

A working vehicle with a ladder chassis is assessed on different points from a passenger car. Four things determine whether you are getting a bargain or taking on a cost.
The Amarok has a separate load-bearing frame on which the cab and load bed are mounted. An impact that shifts the frame is fundamentally different from a dent in a wing: that work belongs on a straightening rig.
So ask for photos of the underside and look at the gap between cab and load bed. If it is not even, the frame has either been worked on or is distorted.
Many Amaroks have towed 3,000 kg or more for years. That puts a load on the rear leaf springs, the tow bar mounting and the drivetrain. A sagging rear axle or a worn clutch are items you want to see reflected in the price. If you are short of such a part, you can get it from a salvage vehicle through our platform for a fraction of the new price.
The term refers to a calculation by the insurer: repair costs more than the market value of the car at the time of the loss. For a commercial vehicle that has been on the road for years, that value is limited, while the technology still has many kilometres left in it.
Look at each car to see whether repair is viable or whether the value lies more in the components: the V6, the eight-speed automatic, the 4MOTION drivetrain, the load bed or a complete hardtop.
In the Netherlands an Amarok is often registered as a commercial vehicle (‘grijs kenteken’), and that affects the tax you pay. So find out how the vehicle is registered and which conditions go with that.
Also use the VIN to retrieve the damage history and ask for the inspection reports. With a complete file, re-registration or export to Germany, Poland or Africa is a good deal easier.
With a working vehicle you want to know what it has been through and who you are buying from. That is why a place on our platform is reserved for accredited dealers affiliated with organisations such as the Vereniging Schadevoertuighandel (VSV) and the Stichting Verzekeringsbureau Voertuigcriminaliteit (VbV). A substantial share of their stock comes directly from insurers.
Every Volkswagen Amarok salvage car on our platform comes with sharp photos and detailed specifications. From these you can tell whether it is a case of bodywork damage or whether there is more to it, for example to the chassis or drivetrain.
Missing a picture of a particular part? Ask the dealer for photos of the load bed floor and the chassis rails. On a working vehicle that tells you more about its past than the mileage does.
You negotiate with the dealer yourself and there is no middleman in between. That saves on price and on time. What is more, a damaged Amarok costs far less than a comparable one without damage. What else we offer you:
From contractors looking for a work vehicle to traders buying for export: the buyers here vary widely. Does your plan fit any of these?
With a work vehicle, repair is all about getting it back in service quickly. That is why we offer more than just the car: you will also find Volkswagen salvage cars and high-quality used car parts for this specific model.
That way the pick-up and the parts to get it back on the road come from the same sources. It spares you doing the rounds of suppliers and, with large parts such as a load bed, the delivery time too.
Buying for your business? Then from a single account you can see what is coming in and which donor vehicles are available.
“All our dealers go through a selection process beforehand and continually add their stock. That keeps the listings on this page moving: if there is nothing here today, that may be different tomorrow. With a vehicle that is worked this hard, a dealer also knows what to look for. He will tell you what the damage does to the repair costs and to the residual value.”
Repairing a damaged Amarok with used parts cuts costs and saves raw materials. Putting an existing car back to use simply takes far less material than building a new one.
With a pick-up weighing well over two tonnes, that counts for even more. There is a mountain of steel in the frame, the load bed and the drivetrain, and with good maintenance those parts last for decades. As long as they are usable, they belong under another Amarok and not on the scrap heap. We are glad to encourage that reuse.

No. Our affiliated partners keep adding to the listings, and they change every day. Pick-ups are also a small segment in the Netherlands. Save your search or this page and come back regularly.
You can, provided the vehicle still meets the requirements for a commercial vehicle after the repair, including those relating to the cab and the load space. If you change anything there, consult your accountant or the RDW beforehand on the consequences.
That the insurer puts the cost of repair above the vehicle’s current value. For a work vehicle with a high mileage that value is not high, so even limited damage can lead to it being written off. The condition of the mechanics is not taken into account.
For the first generation much of the technology comes from the Volkswagen Group, so there is a fair supply of parts. The second generation shares its base with the Ford Ranger, which in turn makes the mechanical parts widely available. For body panels and interior parts, a salvage vehicle from our listings is usually the quickest route to the right part.
Yes, and with this model that happens a lot. Make sure the export papers and the damage history are correct and that you have the complete registration document. Check beforehand that no block has been placed on the vehicle.
No. As a marketplace we bring supply and demand together; the sale is made by the affiliated partner. So you agree any warranty with the dealer where the pick-up is located.
